HONORS ART

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Honors Art is designed to give the students a foundation in creative visual thinking and problem solving. Projects will involve experimentation with methods and media. The artistic mediums explored will involve a variety of advanced drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculptural techniques. Students will have studio and academic homework. This course is for the serious art student who desires to create a portfolio and is planning on enrolling in Art III Major.

Curriculum: Honors Art

STUDIO ASSIGNMENTS

Landscape Drawings – During the first marking period students focus on landscape drawings.  Students learn how to compose a landscape drawing, how to create value contrast and texture, and how to use media such as pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, oil pastel, and acrylic paint.
